[divinization of cruelty] 2021-
"Cruelty is not only the passion of enjoyment in the face of the other's pain, but also of indifference and insensitivity to it"         Ana Carrasco Conde.
In November 2020 I started the project that I would call "the divinization of cruelty", the works can be considered metaphors between civilization versus savage, hardness / fragility, progress / tradition, power / freedom, subject / object, etc.
Work can have different meanings; a metaphor for the clash between two empires; the action of man in history; a critical view of historicism; issues of power and violence; the formation of the image of the other; reminiscence, something like this to be able to overturn the thinking about the suffering in history and in this case that of an empire that annihilates another empire that in turn crushed other peoples and so on until reaching the most defeated of all ...
The works are made up of seven pyramids, similar to the Aztec pyramids, and glass sculptures. On them I have printed texts and images, some referring to the Aztec culture and others, mostly, referring to the vision that the conquerors and the Spanish authorities of the time gave of the peoples of the so-called new world.
And it is here where I emphasize in my proposal how, despite human 'progress', in our perception of the other the archetypes conceived hundreds of years ago have been maintained, without, in centuries, neither in their structure nor in their base, have substantially changed reality?
